🐾 Neelagiri Tiger [Neelagiri Kaduva] is an important Missing Link in Evolutionary Science,
almost a Pre-Historic animal; as Big as Tiger - with the Size, Shape and Body similar to that of a Tiger & the Face similar to dog;
Discovered and SCIENTIFICALLY PROVED by Dijo Thomas in South India.

🔳 A " Leopard " Attack !
🐾 Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve is one of the Most Important Hotspots of Western Ghats Eco System, with an area of
1828 km2 in Kerala and a Total of 3,500.36 km2 (1,351.50 sq mi) including Tamil Nadu.
■ With vast stretches of Un-Explored Virgin Forests, Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve hides some Astonishing Secrets, which includes Kallana, claimed Species of Pygmy Elephants; Arogya Pachha (Trichopus zeylanicus) a herbaceous plant with extraordinary medicinal and energetic properties, and above all, ● 🐅 a Mysterious Pre-Historic Predator, as big as Tiger ❗

🐾 A "Leopard Attack" has been taking place in Neyyar Dam, Trivandrum, Kerala, India; which is in the Periphery of the Vast Stretches of of Agastyar Biological Reserve Forests.
The villages where the attack was taking place near Neyyar Dam, is mostly only a few kilometres away from the boundary of the Agastyar Biological Reserve Forests.
🔵 For a few days now , the report was coming in all the Medias, regarding the Attacks on Dogs , Goats, Chickens, Rabbits etc., by a " Leopard " and a " Female Leopard with 2 Cubs ", in and around the villages of Neyyar Dam.

🔳 SIGHTINGS
Many Villagers in different parts of Neyyar Dam Reported the Sightings of a " Leopard " and female " Leopard " with 2 Cubs, in and around the villages of Neyyar Dam.
Sightings happened mostly when it came to catch their Livestock.
👉 Though most of the Sightings were during night , a few of the Sightings were in broad DAYLIGHT ❗

✅ Mission to Save the " Leopard " by Dijo Thomas
From the media reports it was evident that the people were Getting Agitated more and more , day by day, due to the Presence of " Leopards " ;
and Attack on Livestocks, by the " Leopards " in their villages.
👉 As 🐆 Leopards are are Naturally Aggressive, and tend to Attack People at the slightest Provocation, Dijo Thomas saw the possibility of the "Leopards" being KILLED by the Villagers, if they attacks the people, which is bound to happen, sooner or later.
■ Therefore Dijo Thomas decided to call some Top Officers in the Forest Department
👉 Many Forest Officers, in 3 States in South India, know his expertise with Wild Elephants , Tigers , Leopards, Other Wild Animals etc. ; and the Forests ; in different parts of South India for years.
🐾 Dijo Thomas had Spend many Years Going after Wild Elephants , Tigers , Leopards, Other Wild Animals etc., in Many Forest Areas, for Conservation Purposes; and for doing Research.

🔳 PCCF ( Principal Chief Conservator of Forests ) OP Kaler IFS sends Dijo Thomas to Find Out what the Mysterious Attacking Animal is !
On 25 Sep 2014, Dijo Thomas called PCCF ( Principal Chief Conservator of Forests ) OP Kaler IFS, a Top Ranking Officer in Kerala Forest Department, over the phone, and told him that he could try to save the the leopards before people killed it.
PCCF OP Kaler had known Dijo Thomas for a few years back, when he went to report the First Animal that Dijo Thomas Discovered , the Swarna Kuthira ( Direct Sighting , but Not Scientifically Proved ), when he was a CCF (Chief Conservator of Forests) in charge of Palakkad and Wayanad Forests.
👉 OP Kaler IFS was greatly relieved , and requested Dijo Thomas to immediately go to Neyyar Dam, and that he would make all arrangements, and inform both the Wildlife Warden (Wildlife Division) and DFO (Territorial) of Trivandrum Forest Division.
After 2 hours, OP Kaler IFS , over phone, enquired why I have Not reached Neyyar Dam, and Requested me to arrive at the earliest, and said that the Forest Officers and MLA was waiting for me.

🔳 As if this "Expert" in Traditional Dress Mundu, was going to Discover some New Species ❗
When I reached there, Wildlife Warden, Forest Division, Trivandrum, Mr. Sunil Sahadev IFS was impatiently waiting for me in Neyyar Dam Range Office.
A lot of other Forest Officers and Watchers, including a few Range Officers were also present there.
❌ A little Dislike And Disdain was Clearly playing in their face of the Senior Officers, for the young "Wildlife Expert" send by Top Forest Officers; while they themselves had Years of Experience in the Forests.
❗ As if this "Expert" in Traditional Dress Mundu, was going to Discover some New Species . Ha. Ha❗ 😀😂😂
( I was Financially very tight at that time , and didn't have Money to buy a Pant, which was better suited for the Forests )
Sunil Sahadev IFS told me that MLA Sri. A. T. George was waiting at the Open Jail Guest house for quite some time, & we started immediately in his vehicle.
I later found Sunil Sahadev to be a relatively good Officer.

🟥 A Great Surprise in Neyyar Dam ❗
🐾 On the way, Wildlife Warden Sunil Sahadev told me the details briefly in 5 minutes of the Attacking Animal, & suggested that it could be only either a Leopard or Wild Cats !
👉 I told him that , though from the the Description of Eyewitnesses, it Seemed to be a Leopard ;
🔴 👉 from the NATURE Of The ATTACKS Taking Place; I DIDN'T THINK that it was neither a Leopard, nor Wild Cats.
He asked me if it was Not either, then what could it be ❓
■ I Answered him that there is one Animal that could be most Possible, but it was one that most people have not heard off ❗
🟩 Patti Kaduva
🐾 I told him other than two, the Mysterious wild creature could most probably be something that nobody has heard off till now, except very few old persons living near forests; and Sighted Even more Rarely;
but that I was almost sure that it was

🔳 How I Started the Search for Patti Kaduva ❓
■ About 12 Years before all this, I was visiting Thommen Kuthu Waterfalls, in Idukki Forests, when a Hunter - Turned - Forest Watcher told me that, about 30 years Earlier, during Hunting, he saw an Animal like a Lion, but Reddish Brown in Colour, standing on a rock, and he still didn't know what it was !
👉 I initially thought that he was Trying to Fool me, but after Grilling him for about 45 minutes, I was convinced that he was speaking the truth.
■ About a few years later, I got Detailed and Verifiable Information from the people living near Forests in Mangalore, including Trustable Eyewitness, of Patti Kaduva, which once in a while comes to catch their dogs.
Many people living near Forests, who saw Patti Kaduva,
in Idukki district of Kerala, Mangalore region in Karnataka, and Wayanad in Kerala etc.,
had told me that, it was 🐅 as Big as Leopard / Tiger, had the body Similar to that of a Tiger - and the face similar to that of a dog} ❗
Patti means Dog and Kaduva means Tiger !
[ ● 'Patti Kaduva' is the Colloequial name of Neelagiri Kaduva. [I named it Neelagiri Kaduva one year later in 2015 only]
✅ I was really very very happy as I have been trying to find out for the last 12 Years, whether it Still Existed in any of the Forests of Kerala and Karnataka.
❌ Even then, Patti Kaduva was NOT OFFICIALLY RECORDED by the Wildlife Experts of that time , most probably that they've Never Even heard about it❗
Even Centuries back, Neelagiri Tiger was very rare, and as a result, even Wild life Experts & Forest Department didn't know that such a thing existed ❗

🔳 The Pug Marks 🐾❗
Then Wildlife Warden Sunil Sahadev showed me the cast of the Pug Marks taken in Plaster- o'-Paris !
👉 Though it was as Big as a Leopard's Pug Marks , 9 cm , there was a Very UNUSUAL Thing in it.
🔴 The CLAWS were Clearly Visible in the Pug Marks !
👉 Sunil Sahadev told me that it was one thing that Confused him and the other Officers, as for Leopards, the Claws was Retractable and will Not be Visible in the Pug Marks ❗
🟢 🐾 Though at That Time, I was Not Sure Whether Neelagiri Kaduva's Pug Marks had Claws in it or Not ( meaning Retractable ) ;
👉 here was an Important DIFFERENTIATING FACTOR for the Mysterious Animal, from the Pug Marks of a Leopard or Tiger ❗
🔵 I have Obtained , My First Solid Proof, for My Theory that it Could be Patti Kaduva ❗
🔳 Here was something that Pointed to the Possibility of the Mysterious Animal Attacking in Neyyar Dam Could be the Legendary Patti Kaduva that I was Searching for 12 Years !

After talking with eye witness in open jail, I was 90% sure that it was NeelagiriKaduva [ Pattikaduva ].
So I told those who had been there, including the MLA; & to the reporters of Mathrubumi & Manorama Daily, who talked to me over the MLAs phone, that I am 90% sure that it was Patti Kaduva, the rest 10% being given as it was not directly sighted by me, & because the two witness in jail said that the leapord they saw was yellow in color.
I knew very well from accounts that I have heard that the color of Patti Kaduva as reddish brown or tan.
[Later in my research, I found out that about 30% may also be pale yellow in color.]

In Nettukaltheri Open Jail compound we went & saw:
1. An attack on the poultry shed. The concrete which holds the iron mesh lay scattered on the ground. Even a strong man wold not be able to apply such force, minimum it should be a Leopard or something similar.
2. 200 meters away in the rubber plantation, something heavy, like a goat or a dog was dragged towards the water body.
3. I identified a Male Adult, a Female Adult and Two Cubs from the Pug Marks ❗
4. The Largest of the Pug Marks was 9 cm ❗
Only the Largest of the Leopards will have a 9 cm Pug Mark !
By that time DFO Uma IFS and her husband, also arrived.
Her husband, also an IFS Officer, was Under Suspension, for Corruption and other Criminal charges.
[ ✖️ Later on, DFO Uma , a highly Negative Officer, was a part of the Criminal Syndicate Inside Kerala Forest Department Headquarters, Trivandrum, who were Doing Everything in their Power, and Misusing their Office, to Prevent the Conservation of Neelagiri Kaduva.
✖️ 1 Year Later, She and her Husband was Charged by Kerala Police with
👉 Attempt to Murder , of 2 Main Accused in Elephant Poaching Case, in Custody; in order to Destroy the Evidence Linking them to Top Forest Officers. ]

🟥 🐾 I had an Idea to Check Whether Patti Kaduva Existed in Agastyar Biological Reserve Forests ❗
I Requested Wildlife Warden Sunil Sahadev to call a Few Adivasi [ Tribal ] Watchers .
👉 If Neelagiri Kaduva Existed in Agastyar Biological Reserve Forests, they would Definitely Know ❗
Three " Kaanikar " Adivasi [ Tribal ] Watchers were Called.
❓❓ I Excitedly Asked them Whether they have heard about Patti Kaduva and Whether it Exists in Trivandrum Forests .
👉 Their Expression Answered me Even Before They Spoke.
✖️ Their Face was Blank and they Shook their Head.
👉 No they have NOT heard about an Animal called Patti Kaduva !
The Foresters and Beat Officers gathered there hardly Concealed their Smirking.
👉 So much for the " Great Wildlife Expert " , who was said to have Played with Wild Elephants and Tigers in Wayanad and other places.
I was SO CONVINCED that the Animal here was Neelagiri Kaduva, I was Not Ready to Give Up !
👉 ⛔ Then I Gave a Detailed Description of its Physical Appearance and Behaviour Pattern to Tribal Watchers, about Neelagiri Tiger, and said that its Main Prey was Dogs; and again Asked them Whether they have heard about such an Wild Animal in their Forests .

✅ Naai Puli
☑️ This Time " Kaanikar " Tribal Watchers Smiled broadly and Nodded their Heads Vigorously .
🟥 Yes they know such an Animal and its Name in their Language is Naai Puli ❗
Interestingly, Naai Puli has the same meaning as Patti Kaduva, Naai means Dog and Puli means Tiger ( in Tamil ) !
● The Description Clearly Matched !
● The Behaviour Pattern Clearly Matched !
● The Main Prey for Both were Dogs !
🔴 Without a Doubt , the Patti Kaduva that I was Searching for 12 Years and the Naai Puli of " Kaanikar " Tribals were one and the SAME ❗
