There are Additional Differences in Colour, Differences in the Size and Shape of the Different Organs, etc. !

Regarding Tusks, Size and Shape of the Tusks, Just Barely Protruding Tusks ( Which We call Thetta ), Absence of Tusks in Female, Total Absence of Tusks in Male Elephants, which are called Mozha / Makhna Elephants.

📕  The Discovery of Kuravan Elephants was the Result of an INTENSIVE STUDY of 3 YEARS by Dijo Thomas in Wayanad in Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu States in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013❗

1. Indian Elephant  (Elephas maximus)

2. African Bush Elephant  (Loxodonta africana)

  ◾  Classification of Kuravan Elephants :  Species 

  ❌ It is Totally IMPOSSIBLE for Anyone to Discover a New Species in Wild Elephants, according to Biologists and Scientists❗

👉 Because Elephants of the World had been Thoroughly Studied by Numerous, Different Groups of Scientists and Biologists.

Spanning over 3 Centuries.

👉 Well, they were Almost Correct. That is , Till this Point in Time !!

🔴  Unique Characteristics of Kuravan Elephants

◾ Morphological Features 

◾ Differences between Kuravan Elephants and Common Indian Elephants   (Elephas Maximus Indicus)

  ● Kuravan Elephants are much Smaller than the Indian Elephants. 

  ● Kuravan Elephants are Only 3 / 4 th Size of regular Elephants.

  ● They are much Leaner too ... 

  ● One of the Most Important Differciating Feature is that ; 

➖ The Shape of the Back of Kuravan Elephants will look like a Single Parabola ;

➖ Whereas for Indian Elephants, the Back will Look like 2 Parabolas - One Bigger over the Spine region, and a Smaller one over the Head.

● Kuravan Elephants have Relatively Longer Tusks, some being almost touching the ground.

● But the width of the Tusks would be mostly less.

🔻 For Example, in Behaviour Aspects too, the Differences are Very Evident.

 👉. The Kuravan Elephants are Less Aggressive. 

They are also Less likely to Attack or to Mock charge.

👉 The Territory of the Kuravan Elephants are Spread across the Vast Wildlife Sanctuaries, Tiger Reserves and National Parks in the Border Region of the Three States of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu in South India.

 🔻 While I was Interacting with Wild Elephants in Wayanad ; in Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary ; One day I was Shocked to Find a Herd of Wild Elephants, Which at First Glance itself ;

➖ I understood that, They were Very Different from Ordinary Indian Wild Elephants❗

   🔻 All these Findings are Part of the Elaborate Research done  by Me ;

 in Wayanad, and other 2 States from 2010 to 2014❗
